Scanning your computer for VST plug-ins is a two-stage process: first, you need to tell ACID where your plug-ins are installed, and then you can scan those folders for plug-ins. You don’t need to scan for DirectX or ReWire plug-ins. These plug-ins are registered with Windows and are detected automatically. From the View menu, choose Plug-In Manager if the window isn’t already visible. Click the Configure VST button at the top of the Plug-In Manager window. The Plug-In Configuration dialog is displayed.

RE: Sony Acid Pro 6 will not load POD Farm 2 VST by on 2010-06-15 12: Hello, I was able to get this to work on Acid 7 but not in Acid 6. It looks like we may have a compatibility issue but in all honesty I don't think POD Farm was tested with Sony Acid at all. I can log a bug to make this visible to our software engineering department but at the moment, Acid is typically not a DAW we do a lot of testing with based on the amount of people that use id compared with say, Sonar or Cubase. Re: RE: Sony Acid Pro 6 will not load POD Farm 2 VST by on 2010-06-15 18: Yeah, I don't want to change my whole DAW just to use POD Farm plug ins, they're good but they aren't THAT good.I'll just have to upgrade Acid to version 7, they made some pretty nice improvements over 6 and it's just as robust as ProTools LE or any of the other popular DAWs now.but for Line6.you guys should really add Acid Pro to your list of DAWs to test on.I see a lot of unhappy Line6 customers with Sony Acid Pro on this board!
Re: Sony Acid Pro 6 will not load POD Farm 2 VST by on 2010-06-18 16: Thank you for purchasing and using Line 6 POD Farm plugins. 3rd party application compatibility is a top priority at Line 6 to ensure the best experience for our customers. Line 6 Engineering was able to successfully load and use both POD Farm 1.12 and POD Farm 2.00 plugins, as well as the 2.00 Elements plugins within Acid 6.0d (build 363). That is what we've used for testing. So it apparently.can. work in Acid without upgrading to 7.x, we just have to isolate why they aren't loading into your install of Acid 6.x on your machine.
Suggest a possible VST configuration issue within Acid 6 (?) Have you tried any other VST hosts to see if it is only Acid 6 giving you a problem? (Reaper is a VST host that has a free evaluation of the full version, you can download at www.cockos.com) Are Line 6 plugins the only 3rd party VST plugins giving you a problem in Acid? Line 6 Engineer Scott.
Re: Sony Acid Pro 6 will not load POD Farm 2 VST by on 2010-06-19 06: Hi Scott, Wow, you did it! I haven't tried any other hosts yet, but I will give it a try.also, I was wondering what OS you were running when you got this to load? I am running Windows 7 64-bit. This PC is less than a month old, you can check my profile to see the tech specs but it's an i7-920 Quad Core with 6GB of RAM, so I know it has more than enough horsepower. I have a sneaking suspicion that it may be an OS issue, possibly on the Acid side of things. Thanks for your help though and I will give Reaper a try. I don't actually have any other 3rd party VST plugins to try out.
If you could let me know the OS you used that would be great, thanks again Scott! Re: Sony Acid Pro 6 will not load POD Farm 2 VST by on 2010-06-21 11: Thanks for sending your machine specs. Turns out, the machine I had Acid 6 installed on was Windows XP (SP3). I installed Acid 6 on a Windows 7 (64bit) machine, and yes, I am now duplicating your problem.
However, I am not able to load.any. VST plugins (including those that come with Cubase, as well at Guitar Rig 3). So at this point, unfortunately I am leaning towards diagnosing as an Acid 6 incompatibility with Windows 7 and/or 64-bit Windows with regard to their VST support. We will try to investigate a bit more to find root cause, but if it is a problem with Acid 6, I doubt Sony will patch 6 and instead suggest a solution to updgrade to 7:/ Cheers, Line 6 Engineer Scott. Re: Sony Acid Pro 6 will not load POD Farm 2 VST by on 2010-06-21 19: Ok, after some further investigation, we regret to say that it seems that Acid Pro 6 is not fully Windows 7 compatible. It doesn't appear to be a problem with Line 6 VST plugins from the information we were able to gather. It appears that the VST wrapper.dll does not register and/or load properly in Windows 7 (both 32 and 64-bit versions).
Acid 6 only supports VST plugins by using a DirectX plugin wrapper - it is not a native VST host. The wrapper DLL is called sfvstwrap.dll. It is used by several Sony (formerly Sonic Foundry) products (Vegas, Sound Forge, Acid, etc.) You can possibly do some research and post on Sony discussion boards to see if any other users have had difficultly using the Sony VST wrapper on Windows 7. If we come across any further insight, we will post to this thread. Good luck, and sorry you are unable to use our products in your current configuration.
Line 6 Engineer Scott.
