I possde 2 DI100 past year. If you are looking for a reliable 100%, without staining or supplmentaires functions, and that you have in, invest in plutt Radial, BSS or Midas. That said, if your budget is tight the DI100 will help in 80% of cases.
The ULTRA DI DI100 is an active, phantom powered direct box. Unlike a passive DI where the frequency response of the signal can be altered depending on the connected impedance, an active DI buffers the input signal with an amplifier. This assures that the sound source will reach the mixer balanced and noise-free. The input-buffering amplifier also ensures clean, pure and powerful sound when using extremely long cables.
The ULTRA DI DI100 features Behringer's OT-1 output transformer and the unit will also easily deal with a guitar amplifier's speaker output, handling up to 3,000 Watts. The DI can be powered either from the phantom power of a mixer or by using a 9V battery. Rated 5 out of 5 by Phil the Director of Worship from More reasons to go Active than expected. Just replaced two of our passive direct boxes with these things; after one Sunday service we're buying 2 more. One thing I never expected was the use of attenuation: Using the box with -20 dB allowed us to turn the keyboard up, and it turns out we had it so low, the signal was so small that it was distorted. With the multiple sliders up on the keyboard, the sound is crisp and clear. Just another reason to go Active. This also reduced the hums and hisses as compared to a passive direct box by almost double.
Definitely worth it.The only down side is it doesn't have a 1/4 out. Only has a unbalanced 1/4 direct out or link as they call it. Rated 5 out of 5 by Amateur Musician from Worked for our church organ Our church obtained a new electronic organ which was having issues when plugged into the sound system through a passive direct box. The organ would not function properly while connected, much less put sound out over the system. My instinctive thought was that the power output of the organ was not adequate to drive the sound to the main amp. Not knowing much about the technical side of it, I purchased this direct box after much research and deliberation. Anyway, it just arrived and it works flawlessly!
I am very pleased. Rated 5 out of 5 by NazStrat from Behringer Met My Expectations This product (Ultra-DI DI100 Direct Box) is like a solid car that performs well and has the right mix of desired options. Before I used this product, my acoustic guitar always causes humming noise into the church's PA system. So, as a corrective action I reluctantly turn down my guitar's volume to reduce or eliminate the noise.
The consequence is the sound of my guitar suffers. To say the least, I get frustrated when I can't hear my guitar sound as the choir sings. A couple of times, I was forced to turn down the volume so low because of the annoying hum that made our pianist/ music director give me a dirty look. So, I said I've got to do something. I purchased the Ultra-DI DI100 after diligently researching the internet for product specs, user reviews and pricing.

Last Sunday, I plugged in my guitar with this unit in the church's PA system and I was holding my breath to see what will happen. To my delight, no noise whatsoever was heard through the PA system even as I turned up the volume. No humming noise.what a relief! I was happy that I finally heard the beautiful bright clean sound of my acoustic-electric guitar through the church's PA system. Even our bass player sounded happy when he told me he could hear my guitar sound good. I know it's early for me to give a review about this product but I give it a Two Thumbs Up already for great features, solid/sturdy construction, great pricing. So far the manufacturer Behringer has delivered its promise.
Just buy it and have fun!
